Audience Engagement

From Lobby Display to Speaker Night, here is a collection of Audience Engagement opportunities for this production of A Doll's House.

Hotel Lobby

Lobby Display

The lobby display for A Doll’s House will focus on indulging the audience with macaroons and sweets, as Nora was always prohibited by Torvald. There will be southern Italian Tarantella music playing in lobby and during pre-show as the audience rolls in. There will be 3 infographic panels on my Areas of Research: Tarantella, Nora's World and Henrik Ibsen.

Wine and Cheese

Drinks with the Dramaturg

On the second Wednesday of the run, Gloggs and Punsch are served as the audience members ask the dramaturg questions about the production process and the play, while those who want to craft their own mini doll’s houses sit together at a craft table and discuss and talk, as well.

Microphone

Speaker Night

After the first Sunday matinee, I will facilitate a post-show talk back with Kristin Gjesdal, Professor of Philosophy at Temple University (assuming she says yes!).

Kristin’s expertise is Historical: Modern European Philosophy; Systemic: Hermeneutics, Philosophy of Art, social and Political thought. She is an expert on Ibsen and some of her scholarship explores connections between Ibsen and other philosophical concerns, like German Idealism, phenomenology and hermeneutics. She has written articles and books on Ibsen, including a piece for the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
